Donnelly Earns Second Weekly Honor

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Junior Riley Donnelly of the 10th-ranked Maryland field hockey team (5-3, 3-2 B1G) earned her second weekly honor of the season Monday, as she was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

Donnelly led the Terrapins on both ends of the field in two wins over Indiana this weekend. She led the Terrapins in scoring with three of their eight goals and helped allowed just one goal to the Hoosiers in 120 minutes.

She buried a penalty stroke for Maryland's fourth goal in a 5-0 victory Friday. On Sunday, she opened the scoring to score the first goal of the game when she buried a drag flick off a penalty corner in the second quarter. She banged in another shot off a penalty corner for Maryland's third goal in a 3-1 victory.

Donnelly currently leads Maryland with 13 points off a team-high five goals and three assists. She was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on March 7.

Next, Maryland will head to Iowa (6-1, 4-1) for two games the first weekend in April. The Terps and the Hawkeyes will play at 5:30 p.m. ET on Friday, April 2. That matchup will be televised on the Big Ten Network. They will play again at 12:30 p.m. ET on April 4.
