Class overview

UNIV 100 is a one-credit seminar for all entering freshmen students that helps them to answer the questions, "Why am I here?" and "How can I get the most out of the University of Maryland?". The goal of the seminar is to connect students to the resources they need to excel, while making sure their transition is as smooth as possible.

During the fall semester, students in our global UNIV100 section will connect with first-year students from other cultures, through shared activities and experiences. In addition to the lessons on diversity and inclusion, transitioning to UMD, and student success skills/resources that all UNIV100 sections teach, this sections will focus on global and intercultural exchange and bring students together to deepen their understanding of individuals' differences.

 SHARED EXPERIENCES

Students will have opportunities to engage with students from other cultures through shared experiences.
