BSOS Undergraduate-Graduate Mentoring Program
COLLEGE OF BEHAVIORAL AND SOCIAL SCIENCES (BSOS)
UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND
BSOSMentoring@umd.edu

Are you an undergraduate student who may be considering graduate school in the future?

Are you a graduate student who remembers what it was like when you were an undergraduate?

This Mentoring Program is designed to match undergraduate and graduate students in Behavioral and Social Sciences departments for informal one-on-one mentoring about preparing for graduate school. The investment is small but the pay-off could be huge!

This is a great opportunity for graduate students to get valuable mentoring experience. Graduate students will have Terrapin Express cards that can be used to purchase coffee or lunch on campus for their mentees and themselves.

Undergraduates have the opportunity to learn from someone who has been there. Is graduate school the right option for you? How do you get research experience, take full advantage of classes, ensure high-quality letters of recommendation, and identify potential graduate programs and mentors? An informal meeting with a graduate mentor can provide first hand advice.

We will enroll students in the BSOS Mentoring Program until the slots for the semester are full on a first-come basis.  Second year (sophomore) students will be given first preference followed by Third year (junior) students.
