Fratz Tabbed Assistant; Frese Announces Staff Updates

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Head coach Brenda Frese announced four promotions and an addition to the Maryland women's basketball staff this week.

Current staff members Kaitlynn Fratz and Keith Pough, who both served the Terrapins in the interim this season, will stay on in their roles of Assistant Coach and Assistant Director of Basketball Performance. Sean Ehlbeck will take over as the Director of Scouting and Joe Glowacki will take over as the Director of Video. Frese welcomes Lindsey Spann, who recently served as a graduate assistant at South Carolina, to the staff as the Director of Recruiting Operations and Player Personnel.

"Both Kaitlynn and Keith earned their positions all year long in the roles they undertook," Frese said. "They have a tireless work ethic and incredible passion for Maryland and our program. I am beyond thrilled to extend them the opportunity to be with us for a very long time in their careers."

Fratz, a native of Accident, Md., first joined Frese's staff in the summer of 2017 and assisted with numerous day-to-day tasks including making recruiting materials, recruit scheduling, advance scouting and practice planning as the Director of Scouting and Player Development. This year, she assisted took over assistant coach responsibilities including developing scouting reports, recruiting and on-court preparation.

Pough, who interned with the program in the 2016-17 season, will continue to oversee the Terrapins' strength, fitness and assist with nutrition regimens on a daily basis.

Ehlbeck joined Frese's staff as the Director of Video in the spring of 2016. Over this past season, he supervised all film preparation for coaches and student-athletes. He oversaw the Terrapins' advance opponent scouting and will continue in those roles.

Glowacki spent the last three seasons as the Terrapins' Director of Recruiting Operations. In his new role as the Director of Video, he will assist with the Terps' advance scouting and film preparation, as well as content for social media.

"Sean and Joe have been invaluable members of our program since coming up the ranks as a scout team member and as a manager," Frese said. "Anytime you can keep great people in your program who are invested in our success, it's a huge advantage. We are so fortunate to have such hard working individuals who truly value being a part of their alma mater."

Spann spent the 2018-19 season as a graduate assistant at South Carolina, where she finished her master's degree in sport and entertainment management. She played her senior season with the Gamecocks, where she averaged 10.3 points and shot over 45 percent from the field.

A graduate of Good Counsel, Spann played her first three seasons at Penn State where she earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors in 2016. She scored 1,000 points in her time at Penn State. She earned Academic All-Big Ten honors three times and earned her bachelor's degree in public relations in 2017.

"Lindsey is someone we knew from growing up coming to our camps and being from the area," Frese said. "Lindsey is a star in the making with a very bright future ahead. We are excited about all the intangibles she is going to bring to the table. She is another great addition to our program."

The Terrapins earned a record of 29-5 last season and won the Big Ten regular season title. They advanced to the Big Ten Tournament championship game for the fifth straight year and then went to the NCAA Second Round.
