Maryland Images Application: Spring 2019
Dear Prospective Imager,
Thank you for your interest in Maryland Images Campus Tour Guides! The University of Maryland attracts tens of thousands of diverse, academically talented, and unique students to campus each year. Current students are a powerful resource for attracting prospective students to apply to the university. Imagers showcase the University of Maryland’s opportunities to future students and their families on campus walking tours and at major visit programs. The Office of Enrollment Management selects the best representatives of the University of Maryland to fulfill this important and influential role.
Please keep in mind that this is a volunteer organization. Membership in Images requires a full semester of training. If you are a senior graduating in Spring 2019, you will not have enough time to complete training and give tours. Therefore seniors graduating in Spring 2019 should not apply.

As an Imager, you will...
● Give approximately 4 (or more!) tours per semester (times are flexible around your class schedule).
● Host 1-2 prospective students as a part of our Terp For A Day program, giving them a look at everyday life at the University of Maryland.
● Participate in awesome Images events.

Application Rounds
Here are the application rounds for joining Maryland Images:
● Round One: Initial Application - Complete this application by February 14th at 11:59 pm. All applications will be handled electronically. Please note that applications completed after February 14th at 11:59 pm, will NOT be accepted.
● Round Two: Speed Dating - If you are selected to move on to Speed Dating, you will receive an email detailing the date, time, and location of your Speed Dating round. More information regarding Speed Dating will follow in this application.
● Round Three: Mock Tour Presentations - A portion of applicants will be invited back for the third round of the application process. You will be asked to prepare for and present a tour stop followed by a brief question and answer session led by current Maryland Imagers. Tour Presentations will take place the week of February 25th.
All applicants will be contacted and informed of whether or not they have moved onto the following rounds.

Information about Speed Dating Round
Below we ask that you provide your availability for a Speed Dating round if you advance in the application process. The Speed Dating Round is a 1.5 hour session in which prospective Imagers will meet and interact with current Imagers. Participants will meet with each Imager for 90 seconds and answer a question. After the 90 seconds are up, you will move on to the next Imager.
Speed Dating will be conducted on February 19th, February 20th, and February 21st from 7:15pm-9:00 pm. You will be assigned to attend one speed dating night based on your availability. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THESE DATES IN YOUR CALENDAR. Speed dating is required for all applicants who are selected to move on in the application process.
If you are selected to move on to Speed Dating, you will receive a follow-up email from mdimages@umd.edu. This email will tell you the time and date of our Speed Dating round. Make sure to check spam boxes is you haven't received an email within a few days after the application deadline February 14th at 11:59 pm.

Information about Tour Guide Training
New Tour Guide training is required for everyone who is accepted into Maryland Images. Training will begin during the week of March 11 and will last 6 weeks. Training sessions will be held on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 7-9 pm. It is required that you are able to attend ONE of these training sessions for each of the 6 weeks of training in order to be considered for Maryland Images.
