US Open Semifinalist Frances Tiafoe to Attend Saturday's Football Game

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- United States Open men's tennis semifinalist and Hyattsville native Frances Tiafoe will be in attendance Saturday night when the Terps host SMU at Maryland Stadium.

Tiafoe was raised at the Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC), a USTA regional training center in College Park. He regularly represents Maryland by wearing Terps wristbands during matches.

Earlier this month, Tiafoe defeated all-time tennis great Rafael Nadal en route to reaching the semifinals of the US Open. He's currently ranked No. 19 on the ATP Tour.

Tiafoe's bond with Maryland head coach Michael Locksley was recently featured on the ATP Tour website. Tiafoe was also a guest on Locksley's Instagram Live show 'Late Night with Locks' in 2020. Check out this clip of the two friends talking about what the DMV means to them.

The game on Saturday, which is set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m., will be broadcast on FS1 and the Maryland Sports Radio Network.
